News - 9th Feb 2012
It was great to get down to the club again on Saturday, particularly after all that unbelievable heat!

What a beautiful day!

We had the return of the Tennis League competition and a great social turnout. After tennis the Pizza Night was a really enjoyable evening. Many thanks to Ken McIntosh for organising this and to Jade Flindell for providing the salads.

A lot of us stayed behind to enjoy and it certainly was a terrific sight to see lots of members with their families staying behind and enjoying the company.

We will hold another similar evening in early March and would appreciate any offers to organise or suggestions for the evening.
These evenings have been undertaken to provide something for our members to get together after tennis and the Board decided that the club would provide the food free of charge for members. If, however, you have visitors or your opponents on the day decide to stay we will make a nominal charge for them.

New TV
Many thanks to Dene Rundle for donating a new TV. The old one was getting past its prime and the new model certainly looks the part. Over many years Dene has donated to the club in this manner. We have been the lucky recipients of his generosity in the form of a computer, air conditioner, ice machine etc, etc, etc. Again, many thanks to Dene.

All the best and see you down at the club.

Hensman has a proud history dating back to 1925. We are one of WA's leading Clubs and believe our success is related to our five key strategies:
  • Variety of membership categories to suit ones individual needs
  • Excellent grass courts, fully lit hardcourts and Club facilities
  • Organised social tennis on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Excellent programme of social events
  • Subscriptions set at a level that provides excellent value for money

Courts
The Club currently has 9 grass and 8 acrylic courts. Grass courts are available to MEMBERS ONLY on weekends, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Members are to provide their own balls and arrange their own sets outside the organised social tennis times. Some acrylic courts are available most days to club members free of charge (see Notice Board for further details) and modest hire charges apply for courts usage under lights. A hit up wall at the club provides an ideal facility to work on and improve all aspects of your game.

Clubhouse
Hensman has modern changeroom facilities at the club, including access for disabled members of the community. Our office area is used by captains on match days and by our paid co-ordinator on Mondays and Thursdays of each week. A large hall with fully serviced kitchen is ideal for club functions. The bar services both the hall and the popular alfresco areas of the club.
